Here are the final results of our questionnaire on this issue. The form of the statement was as follows: " A Waitrose Supermarket would benefit Wimborne Minster and secure the future of the town centre."

Respondents were asked whether they "agreed strongly", "agreed", were neutral, or "disagreed" or "disagreed strongly".

A total of 727 responses were received representing 22.7% of households delivered. The results of the survey were as follows:

Disagree/disagree strongly : 425 (63.1%)
Neutral: 64 ( 9.5%)
Agree/agree strongly: 184 (27.3%)

Of those expressing an opinion:
Disagree/disagree strongly: (69.8%)
Agree/agree strongly: (30.2%)

Although the statement in the questionnaire did not specifically mention the cricket ground it was clear from the many additional comments that everyone was aware of the connection between the Waitrose scheme and its proposed location. The questionnaire was distributed to all households in the Wimborne Minster District Ward, Pamphill North and South Parish Wards and the Parish Ward of Shapwick. A total of c.3200 households.
